foods

I had too much food last week. My parents were here and all I did was eat, eat and eat. Mom’s cook is a heaven. I think everybody agrees to that statement. But I dun know abut me, I dun really cook. Will my children say my cook is the best for them? Emm, I doubt it.

I had lunch at Paddington House of Pancakes. My first time. It was a set at RM13.80++. Cheap, huh. Drink, main dish and dessert. The taste was worth every cent and ringgit I spent.

Then we had nasi kerabu, keropok lekor, chicken chop plus more foods for the family at ulik mayang, ulu klang. Nasi kerabu was ok, but chicken chop was definately ko, I mean so so ko. My brother had sup ekor and daging masak merah. Both were out. Father had mi sup. Also out. Takper, bukan gua yang blanjer pon. kuikui

60 earth hour. I was from the air port, sending the old folks home. Right after maghrib prayer, I rushed to putrajaya, to catch the lights off moment. I’m not familiar with that area, I was just hentam and gamble which road to go. N there we were, me and my sister, caught at the traffic light, just 50 meters from the ministry of finance building. I missed the moment. Cibai! (oops) but I heard the hot fm deejay announcing for the lights off and silence.

The cars were already lined up along the bridge (cable bridge?). all I got is this video. The video in the dark.

p/s – I was wearing the 60 earth hour tshirt all the day. Rasa cam berlagak cool jer.

Frustrated for the earth hour moment, we headed to alamanda for makan-makan. They, as in my sister and my brother (both are elders) pau’ed’ me for sushi and famous amos cookies and ice cream. Cincai la, since I got the bonus already (owh btw, just fyi, I’ve paid the deposit for Honda city!). again, wa melantak tak hingat.

t-shirt & speed test

I tried to get 60 earth hour tshirt. It was sold out! Hopefully I can grab one (emm, may be 2) tomorrow. New stock is coming tomorrow after 3pm. RM30 each. RM5 will be contributed to WWF (Malaysia). i think this is great! Earth hour is great! Let’s help the earth breathe peacefully, calmly, smoothly etc. it’s like either u opt to help the earth or u encourage the global warming. So, let’s switch off the lights for one hour, and help the earth to breath. Lights-on means that u vote for global warming.

ok, another story. i am so addicted with this speed test. Got it from someone else’s blog. Someone that some-other-one hates her boyfriend so much that happened to be the some-other-one’s ex boyfriend. as some-other-one's closed friend, i do hate him too! (alamak, terlebey sudah!).

Typing Test

Thanks to mirc! I kind of practiced the typing skill when I started using mirc years years ago. I was addicted to that thing, made me skipped the classes, missed the pop quizes sometimes. but, i did have a good thing - i met someone that offered me a t-shirt printing business. it was quite a successful story. Anyway, just enjoy speed typing!

one to five

It’s difficult to start writing, but once u’re in the right track, the words just come smoothly, without thinking err..err..and err..the beginning part is the hardest challenge for me. Sometimes I want to talk about this, apparently all I have in mind is just about that.

  1. untuk ke pertama kalinyer gua naik monorail. It was so excited, first time la kata kan. But it was a bit cuak gak la, aku tengok rail dier cam tak secure sangat jer. i saw a group of teenagers, they're in 14 or 15 may be. 2 couples and another extra girl. emm, what was that girl is thinking when 2 of her friends wat keje (i mean, mesra2 alam, peluk2, bisik2 which the gap was like 5 milimeters to each other) while she was sorang2 kat tengah, doing nothing! kepochi nyer aku ni..
  2. I have 3 lamps that need to be fixed at my apartment, and this bloody uncle promised me to fix that. I set 2 appointments with him, he screwed both of them. Just now, he just screwed the 3rd appointment! He deserved to hear the ‘f’ word. Puas ati aku. Ohw btw, bukan aku pon yang sound the ‘f’ word kat dier, aku hire orang yang bersuara garau dan macho.
  3. why some of the taxi drivers got to choose where they want to go, I mean once the passengers bumped their asses, the taxi driver needs to drive to where ever the passengers want to go la kan? last week, we had to wait till the 3rd cab that saying ok, lets go to jalan sultan ismail. Cibai! (oops, is this really me saying this word?) We were at jalan imbi. Ke sebab dekat sangat? eh, mana bole pilih2 kan.
  4. r u going to participate in the earth hour campaign? Emm..1 hour without lights from 8.30pm - 9.30 pm, 28 march 09, where ever u live in this world. Just switch off ur lights for 1 hour. Simple, isn’t it? Yes, I’m going to support this campaign. I’ve signed up the campaign in the website. http://www.earthhour.org/. let's sit in the dark for 1 hour! standby ur torchlight, candles or even hand phone, just in case.

  5. last Sunday i join my friend’s group playing badminton somewhere in kg baru. started from 11.30 am, finished at 2pm. Then I continued playing at my office, from 6pm, finished at 9pm. Macam nak traning uber cup jer aku rasa. Whatever. My point is, gua pancit la. Lack of stamina. I played with most of them are in their late 40s, but I don’t know where on earth they got their energy. Owh ya, my other point is the word pancit. I googled and guess what. Yep, it does have another meaning. Check this out;

Pancit or '"Pansit"' is a stir-fried noodle dish common in the Philippines of Chinese origin. This food is second in popularity to rice in the country, and is similar to yakisoba and yakiudon, Japanese-style stir-fried noodles.

i tagged myself

Nobody’s tagged me. Of corse, not. No one knows the existence of this blog. If they do, they do not know who’s the owner. gua nak syok sendiri, tag kan diri sendiri.

10 things that u may be do not know about me;
  1. I hate my current job. u might know this by reading my profile. But u dun know the reasons. There’s only 2 reasons; 2 of the bosses and the projects
  2. I’m anti ants-killing. If I found an ant in the toilet, I will use the toothpaste tube to help it escape from that place, escape from floods! When I was small, I used to think that lopak air tu kind of ants’ version of the sea.
  3. I could be over sensitive sometimes. I cry easily. Even for happy moments, sad moments tu lagi-lagi la kan. even when i read sad stories or watch sad pictures. tapi ramai yang ingat gua takder perasaan a.k.a stone.
  4. I arrange my clothes clippers based on colors, and tone sometimes. light blue, blue, dark blue.

  5. I count number of clothes every time I wash (or technically dump them in a washing machine). I have a limited hanging space, taking into account the gap between each clothes, I can only do 8 clothes per wash (exclusive of the small item)
  6. I like to memorize cars’ plate numbers. Normally those at my office and apartment parking. I can easily recognize somebody’s car.
  7. I do scuba diving but I don’t know how to swim. That’s normal though, isn’t it?
  8. My first ;
§ perfume - elizabeth arden (arden beauty)
    § travel – perth
    § dvd series – alias
    § hp – motorola
§ crush – cikgu roslan, when I was in standard 3!
§ hard rock tshirt – madrid
§ hard rock visit – bangkok
§ movie in cinema – mrs. doubtfire (english), ringgit kasorga (malay)
    § cassette – ella 30110.
§ original cd – air supply. After all, the only original cds that I ever own are siti nuhaliza and backstreet boys!

  9. I read the da vinci code until page 30 only. That was in 2006 and d first english novel that I bought. First and last (so far) malay novel that I bought when I was 16 or 17 and it was ahadiat akashah’s. my 2nd attempt to read a novel is the diary of anne frank. I tried to find the statue of anne frank during my trip years ago, I didn’t realized the statue even I've crossed in front of it few times, because the statue is so small. She was 13, of course I cannot expect more. emm, I wasn’t thinking much at that time ;)
  10. Most of my friends (high school, college, office, housemates) said I’m a kerek girl at the beginning. Minah ni sombong la. Yep, I’m not denying it. But I dun know how to overcome this. I think, the natural look of me memang dah serious, unfriendly, hard to smile etc. BUT, once u know me, I cud be the craziest person u've ever known.

should i?

Should I or shouldn’t i? should i? shouldn’t i? I dun know wat to decide. Should I change my car? can I cope with the extra monthly commitment? It was all started when a friend of mine looking for a 2nd hand car for her brother. I was thinking, ‘alang-alang ada orang nak beli ni, baik jual jer’. and it happened that, aku baru jer usha honda city yang they all dok tayang kat ofis aku ni. dat made me more interested to let go my 7-years-old-wira-aeroback.

Truthfully, new car is not my priority, I was thinking may b after I settle down, got more members in the family, sampai kete tu dah tak muat nak sumbat hamba Allah n barang-barang, then only I transform the car into mpv ker, van ker, lori ker, bas ker..or anything that is bigger than current car, it’s just that the offer came may b at the right rite. May be la..i thought my car is at undervalue, surprisingly, it’s not! Lagi la membuak2 perasaan ni nak let go.

Extra rm300 per month. Emm, for me, that is tight. Annual increment is not certain this year. Some say no increment, same say just a little. What do I need to cut down my expenses? Let’s list down;
  1. less travel (that is so so harddddd). Just found return air asia ticket to Melbourne for only rm934!
  2. less dvds – this is my favorite activity nak membiakkan lemak2 dibadan
  3. iron ur own clothes – I hate ironing. no more once-a-month-cleaner at my apartment. Talking about ironing, just got to know there’s a sport called extreme ironing. nanti kite citer heh.
  4. basic skin care only – no serum, nor eye cream. Biar la mata ni lebam pon. Or may b downgrade my skin care products, which i’ve downgraded from skII to biotherm (yep, I should boycott america’s product)
  5. do not change hand phone regularly. My Nokia 6600 slides was lasted only for 4 months before I switched to Nokia E71. I’m a loyal nokia fan. Should I boycott as well?
  6. find a way to terminate monthly yoga club since aku tak pegi dah over 6 months kot

what are my other monthly commitments?

  1. parents
  2. apartment
  3. car
  4. land (yang aku sendiri pon tak tau kat mana kedudukan geography nyer)
  5. insurance
  6. yoga club (dah 6 months aku bayar bulat-bulat without utilizing even one of the facilities)
  7. utilities - all the 3 A's - air-api-astro, mobile and fixed line, maintenance etc
  8. office clubs - kematian, kesukanan, kekerjaan (just to lengthen the lines)

looks like not-so-tight-commitment, huh. but who knows, behind the list, there are so many more hidden agendas every month, all those ad-hoc things need to be tackled, which sometimes become uncontrollable, contoh nyer - pembelian tiket secara besar besaran dan tidak rasional. travel every 2 months? emm..that won't be an issue if all the travelling expenses are supported by the employer.

Luckily I’m not a kind of fashionable person, no make-ups, not a shoes nor hand bags fan. I just got addicted to traveling. Lets blame mas travel fair, matta fair and all the air asia promotions. Simple thinking, I can still maintain all the small items, but let go the traveling. If I’m done with traveling, hidup ku akan aman tanpa bebanan bayar itu ini or beli itu ini.

After typing all the above, the chance of selling off my car is down to 30%, coz i love travelling more than anything!

cibboi?

i found this restaurant during my trip last year. that word sounds similar with cibai, bahasa pasar or bahasa mencarut orang melayu. but i dun understand, wat with the question mark?

dekat2 ngan cabai pon ada gak kan? cabai a malay word for chilli. east coast people call cabai as lada i.e lada besar, lada kecik/lada jarum (cili padi)

anyway, i googled both cibboi and cibai. didn't find anything special about cibboi. it's just a name for a restaurant. but it is different with cibai. i know that cibai is something like sial (or siol - rasa cam takder la kasar sangat bunyi nyer kan?). but it does have another meaning ghupe-ghupenyer. cek this out - i copied from wikipedia

Chau cibai - bermaksud "faraj busuk"
Cibai bin - bermaksud "muka faraj" atau
bahasa kasarnya "muka puki"

do not give me wrong interpretation on why i paste this in my blog. take this a knowledge - as what i did. well, at least if someday say that word to u, u know wat it means, n u know wat to do.

still excited

The excitement of reaching the summit of mount kinabalu is still fresh. Still can’t believe I did dat. Seriously, I was there. I didn’t upload my picture because I’m just not ready yet to expose myself. This blog is still within me, frens do not know that I’m writing in this blog.

How much that I spent for this trip?

Flight ticket - 319
Mt kinabalu package (1 nite lodging, 2 lunches, 1 breakfast n 1 supper) - 290
2 nites lodging (kundasang & kk) - 60
Transport (4 days) - 180

Equipment
Headlight - 30
Batteries - 13
Raincoat - 8
Mask - 10
Shoes - 70
Socks - 10
Food/energy bar - 15

TOTAL - RM 1005

I spent extra, unnecessarily things ;
socks pacat coz memang takder pacat pon - 9
kasut-konon-nak-pakai-tapi-tak-jadi - 50
nike socks – sayang nak pakai sebab kaler putih - 15

TOTAL - RM 74

'this is the easier part'

Just to share my 2 cents for those who are willing or planning to climb.

Bring ur backpack as light as possible. Just pack these in ur bag;

  1. 1 tshirt – u gonna need this during the night and the day after
  2. 1 pant/tracksuit – also during the night, untuk tido n just in case hujan, bole tukar suar lain la.
  3. Headlight, gloves, raincoat, socks, tooth brush, toothpaste, jacket, chocolate (2 bars are enough)
  4. Mineral water botol kecik tu dah cukup sebab dalam lunch box dah ada 1 botol

Bear in mind, we need to spare the space for lunch box provided by the agency. It contains sandwiches, a piece of chicken, 2 pieces of popiah, 1 mineral water (500ml) and a can of 100plus. It’s quite heavy.

p/s - a can of 100plus at laban rata is RM5.50!

Just for the record, I carried 6kg of my backpack (inclusive of lunch box) which I think I could go lighter than that.

U really need to distract ur mind from thinking ‘adus..penat nyer..’, ‘ala, biler nak sampai ni’..kind of things. Do ur own activities, step counting, imagining things, recite zikr etc. my sil gave very useful and helpful tips to me. Everytime u climb up, always look down (the ground or ur feet, maybe) and walk in a zig zag line. At first I tried to push to the maximum energy, walk and climb as fast as I can and take the rest. I can feel my heartbeat was running like hell. When I tried the zig zag method, the breathing was getting so much better and I could walk non-stop!

tempat kitorang smayang biler dah sampai exit gate.

i did it!

i did it! i managed to climb mount kinabalu. i joined my sil's school expedition to mount kinabalu, kk. Coincidently, I was studied at the same school (secondary). Got to meet ex-teachers, catch up the old stories. Some of them are so different, especially men with grey hair. Out of 65 students + teachers + outsiders, only 40 of us who dared to take the challenge of mount kinabalu, the rest just did window climbing and shopping.

There are 2 trails which are mersilau and timpohon. we (as in only 6 of us, out of 40) chose to start from mersilau and went back tru timpohon. We knew that the distance is 2km more than timpohon, and the trail is also more difficult. But mersilau has nicer view along the trails.

we started around 9.30 am, we really took out own time, enjoying the view, lepak2 kat air terjun, borak2, d pictures of course..penat camner pon, gambar mesti menten..and we reached laban rata around 6.30pm. it was a 9-hour journey! Laban rata is 2.5km from the summit, kind of a pit stop before we continue the journey up to the summit. Mersilau to laban lata is 8km.

1st 2km was hard already hard for me, constantly up, like naik tangga tak berenti2..continued with flat track, pastu turun bukit plak. After 6km of our journey, we reached laying-layang, the intersection of timpohon and mersilau. The last 2km was constantly up again, this time it was a bit slow for us, the energy was at the last bar already.

At laban rata, we stayed in a dorm. the place is beyond my expectation. When I heard the word ‘dorm’, all I have in head is uncomfortable. The bed, toilet, food. But I was totally wrong. The facilities are just great and clean. I cudn’t get much sleep though, may b I was too thinking about the next journey to the summit.

We woke up at 2 am, had a little supper. The traffic was a bit slow, as most of us started at the same time. It was dark (that’s why we need a headlight), cold and windy…and sleepy. Again, we took our own time, no pictures this time (gelap + sejuk maa), tapi masa rest tu, gua sempat baring2 atas batu, tengok bintang..cantek giler ko! Rasa nak tido pon ada gak.

To motivate myself to continue walking and climbing, I did my own activities, with my head and my heart. I did step counting, from 50 and rest, 60 and rest, 70 rest again..and suddenly the counting continued up to 150! Owh, padan la..flat track. Kuikuikui..n dun forget to praise Allah for his creatures.

As the sun was about to rise, we (as only 2 of us. the other 4 dah kat blakang) reached the summit! And my nephew (he’s studying at the same school) shouted to me ‘mak busu..perempuan pertama yang sampai!’ bangga siot..tapi pk pk, ala, pompuan yang ada pon budak2 skolah jer..ngan cikgu 2 orang..sah sah la kitorang sampai dulu, cikgu dah tua, budak2 tu too young la sangat..

Going down the track was a bit easier than climbing up. lalu ikut timpohon tu btul2 testing my leg fitness, asik asik la turun bukit..busan siot. We've got 2 certificates, those yang ikut track mersilau dapat extra certificate, yer la, track yang susah dan jauh, mesti la special.

i took the risk of not doing any fitness or physical preparation. oh btw, i'll be flying to kk tomorrow morning (wednesday) and start climbing mount kinabalu on thursday. i had the intention to jog (since last month), well, at least to keep the stamina, but it was all ended up with spa q, hanging out, makan itu ini. luckily i play badminton regularly, hope that will help me. just fyi, this is my first time mount climbing!

  4. battery (for headlight) - pls find 4 pieces of AAA battery
  5. extra socks - bought a pair of nike yesterday, RM14.30 after 10% discount. i'm not gonna bring the brand new anyway, will use the old one
  6. socks pacat - suke2 ati aku je kasik nama. RM9
  7. hiking shoes - sayang la nak pakai nike running shoes aku, it's white. nanti mesti aku malas nak basuh, so i need a new one
  8. jacket - done
  9. skimask - fren bought, RM8
  10. hat - done
  11. sunglass - done
  12. sunblock - done

  14. tissues - wat is this for? anyway, it's done
  15. plastic bag - done
  16. energy bar - food hunting today
  17. panadol - done
